Welcome!
The Fifth volume of this newsletter covers that which looms over all of us - the end of year close, plus a sneak peak at 2008.

News on IPM 2008
The next version of IPM is well underway, and includes too many enhancement to list!  We're still on track for an early beta test by the end of the year, and a spring release.

It's  evolved from IPM 2007, with a focus on being simpler to use, less screens to navigate and fewer clicks or keystrokes everywhere.  And, of course, stability and data security.

User requests include accessing multiple screens at the same time, long file names, integrated email and web, ability to include photos for members, units and properties, integration with Microsoft Office, longer fields, better handling for names, the ability to create "ad hoc" lists...and much more!

For an early view of IPM 2008, and information about its features and functions, visit here. This page is updated as new information becomes available.

Here's a sneak preview not available anywhere else: the prototype of the Properties screen, complete with easier navigation, picture support and more (Click to enlarge).

We are still seeking IPM 2008 Beta Testers. If you'd like to try IPM 2008 when it's ready for field testing, contact us at technical support

Easier Remote Support
FullHouse Software has switched remote access technology from Webex to Citrix Online's "GoToAssist". Like Webex, GoToAssist provides safe, fast desktop sharing, training and support tools, but is easier for you to use. It requires less information to create your first session and installs only one small "applet" to connect. This eliminates the need for you to "find the information bar" and it works with even 56K modem connections (reasonably well). For more information about GoToAssist, visit www.gotoassist.com

For live remote support, please call 407-919-9690, and have your serial number ready. We will continue to support all IPM users throughout the end of 2007, but after that if you are not on a current maintenance plan, you may pay $50 per incident or technical support may not be available.

End of Year Closing:
  Free Webinar!

Thursday, November 15 at 2 pm Eastern Time

In January and February, 2007, FullHouse was  inundated with calls concerning the End of Year Close - the steps necessary to go from fiscal year 2006 to fiscal year 2007.  As it is a process done only once a year, it's easily forgotten, and one missed step can create problems for months. Some users overwrote 2006 data. Some didn't create an end of year backup or overwrote their other backups. Some never closed out their vendors, and were struggling with 1099s. Some misunderstood the process and overwrote the backup after each checkbook was closed. We've responded by including a new End of Year Wizard to simplify the process, and we're offering a free webinar to answer questions.

IPM 2007 includes an End Of Year Wizard to automate the steps of both cash and accrual closing.  It does the backup, end of month close, basic reporting and creates the new database.  For many simple databases, it will make the process painless and quick. However, if your database contains checkbooks operating on both accrual and cash accounting method, or with different fiscal years, you'll still have to do the process manually.

Whether you use the End of Year wizard or close manually, you need to understand the process. Rather than wait for that panicked call in January, we're offering a Free End of Year Closing Webinar to all IPM users on the maintenance plan.  On Thursday, November 15 at 2 pm Eastern time, we will host a free 45-minute web based seminar that covers:

  • the New IPM End of Year Wizard

  • the steps in the process

  • what you need to do to get ready

  • how to enter 2008 expenses before closing

  • how to address changes to 2007 after closing

  • questions, questions & more questions!

There may be a repeated performance on Thursday, December  6 at 2 pm Eastern Time, if there is sufficient demand.  How's that for value for your maintenance dollar?

If you're on the maintenance plan, all you need to do to attend is call or email us in advance to register.  If you are not on the maintenance plan, some spots may be available on the wait list (after all maintenance members are served) for $50 each.   Please call 407-919-9690 or email us at technical.support@fullhousesoftware.com to register!

Free Ride Ends

December 31

We've been warning you for months: Join the maintenance plan this year, or your support ends.

As of January 1, 2008, no support will be available for IPM 2004 and earlier versions.  For IPM 2006, support will be available at $50 per incident. Technical Support will be limited to installs, unlocks, and some basic operational issues ("where is my database?").

Support for database issues may be available at standard consulting rates. If the issue results from a bug fixed in later releases, you may select to upgrade at the full price ($395/Basic, $695/Unlimited). Consulting fees will be fully credited toward this purchase.

Unlock and installation help may be available for IPM 2004 and earlier versions at $50 per incident.  Other requests for support will be considered on a case by case basis at consulting rates, as time permits.  Our consulting rate for database issues ranges between $65 and $125/hr with a three hour minimum.

FullHouse Software has been offering free support to all users of IPM since we took over from Realty Automation in September 2006. We wish we could service everyone forever, but resources don't allow it.  Our maintenance plan members are our priority, and we want to focus on IPM 2008, not IPM 2000!

Web-Based Training!

Group or one-on-one  Web-based training is now available through FullHouse Software.  We offer structured 45-minute sessions for "Intro to IPM", "Intermediate" and "Advanced" topics, and personalized consultative training is to cover the challenges your business faces.

Our trainer is Julie Johnson, IPM user and professional trainer.  As a working property manager using IPM, Julie is uniquely qualified to help you work through the nuts-and-bolts of the monthly cycle of IPM. As a professional trainer, she  can coax the most computer-phobic user into a comfort zone.

Cost-effective web-based training, or "Webinars" allow one or more IPM users to share a screen with the instructor over  the internet. You can ask "How do I..." and Julie can show you the steps, then watch as you repeat them - like having a tutor at your side.

For more information, visit our training page  or email your questions or requests to training@fullhousesoftware.com

New 12-Month "P & L Format" Budget Report added to 2007.10

Just in time for 'budget season,' we've added a new budgeting report requested by an IPM user. This format matches the popular IPM "12 month P & L" and gives you a recap of all twelve months in columnar format.  Combined with the 12-month P & L itself, you can now get a detailed picture of performance and variation.

This report is labeled "Twelve Month  Detail" in the Budget reports available in the Financial family of reports.

To update to the 2007.10, visit our download center, www.fullhousesoftware.com/privatedownload.html and select  the 2007.10 service pack.  This service pack will update any previous installed version of IPM 2007 to IPM 2007.10
